Support Worker — Respite Service – Tipperary Town.

168 Hours per 4-Week Roster | Permanent | €15.74–€22.24 per Hour

We are currently recruiting Permanent Full-Time Support Workers to join our new Respite Service in Tipperary Town.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new service from the very beginning, supporting adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in a warm, welcoming and home-like environment. As a Support Worker, you will help individuals enjoy meaningful short breaks while promoting independence, choice and community participation.

About MooreHaven

Founded in 1981, MooreHaven supports adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities across Tipperary and Limerick.

Our services include Day Services, Supported Employment, Training Programmes and HIQA-registered Residential and Respite Services. We are committed to promoting independence, inclusion, choice and meaningful opportunities for the people we support.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Support individuals with activities of daily living while promoting independence and choice.
  • Provide personal care in line with individual support plans.
  • Encourage individuals to achieve the goals identified in their Person-Centred Plans.
  • Support participation in social, recreational and community activities.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and home-like respite environment.
  • Build positive relationships with individuals, families and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in line with HIQA standards.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
  • Drive MooreHaven vehicles where required.
  • Attend training and contribute positively as part of the team.

This role operates on a 168-hour, 4-week rolling roster, including a combination of 12-hour and 24-hour shifts, sleepovers, weekdays, weekends and public holidays. A sleepover allowance is payable where applicable.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability.
  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
  • Applicants with a learner permit and a driving test booked may also be considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, flexible and person-centred approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a rolling roster, including sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
