During 2024, MooreHaven purchased “The Beeches” property in Kingswell, Tipperary Town E34 E415, with generous funding from the JP McManus Foundation. Renovation works commenced shortly thereafter, overseen by Marlhill Construction & Team together with the MooreHaven Project Team.

By the end of May 2026 the renovation of The Beeches will be completed and the Construction Team will be leaving the site.

The Respite Home is 4000sq ft in size; It has 5 guest bedrooms; Customised bathrooms; Welcoming kitchen; Sensory room; Recreational room and spacious living/TV room. It is surrounded by parkland; beautiful trees and areas where our guests can enjoy being outdoors and garden.

The MooreHaven Respite Team is currently progressing the “fit out” of the building. In brief the “fit out” includes deep cleaning of the facility; Setting up each bedroom – beds being assembled; cleaned and dressed; chairs; wardrobes; dressing tables being added; pictures hung on the walls; Creating a cosy kitchen – assembling the tables & chairs; adding the White goods; cutlery; delph; etc.; Adding the furniture; pictures; lights to the Sitting room; Kitting out the hot press with bedding; towels etc.

Lots of activities happening so that the Respite Home will be ready to welcome its first guests, the MooreHaven staff; families/carers and our service users in the coming weeks.

A huge Thank You to all concerned with Marlhill Constructions; the local trades people and suppliers for their support in making this happen and to the MooreHaven Team for their ongoing support on the long journey to securing our Respite Home for the South Tipperary and East Limerick Region.

MooreHaven’s respite provides a scheduled/planned adult respite service that best meets the needs of people with an intellectual disability, Autism and/or Physical or Sensory Disability while:

  • The respite service will provide up to 1,600 bed nights annually at full capacity, operating across a 48 week schedule.

MooreHaven remains committed to working in partnership with the Health Service Executive to ensure that respite services are delivered in a responsive and person-centred way.

May 2026 represents a significant milestone for the Tipperary and Limerick regions, as Families, Carers and Service Users of MooreHaven Service have been advocating for a respite service for more than thirty years.

“The Beeches” is now a reality. Congratulations!
