MooreHaven was founded in 1981 to provide a day service for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Today, the service provides day and residential services to over 120 service users and their families through the work of over 80 staff. MooreHaven currently operates day facilities in Tipperary Town and Cashel and five residential homes in Tipperary Town.

Job Description
MooreHaven is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Instructor / Supervisor to join our Day Service Hub based in the Excel Centre in Tipperary Town.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a group of service users with varying and complex needs while delivering meaningful programmes aligned with the New Directions framework. The role involves supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals, develop independence, and actively participate within their community.
Service Details
- 31 Hours Per Week Full-Time, Permanent Contract
- Based in the MooreHaven Day Service Hub at the Excel Centre
- Supporting adults with intellectual disabilities
- Programmes delivered in line with New Directions – the 12 supports framework
Key Responsibilities
- Promote the Person-Centred Planning (PCP) system to achieve the best possible outcomes for each individual
- Support individuals to identify their aspirations and support needs
- Encourage the development of social networks, friendships, hobbies, and interests
- Foster respectful relationships between individuals and their communities
- Maintain positive working relationships with service users and their families
- Liaise effectively with community organisations and relevant stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to Person-Centred Planning meetings
- Support individuals to develop independent living skills where identified through PCP
- Develop and deliver programme modules suited to the needs and abilities of service users
- Use creativity, initiative, and imagination in programme delivery
- Encourage participation in activities that develop skills for potential employment opportunities
- Monitor and discuss service users’ progress with colleagues
- Maintain accurate training and programme records
- Complete risk assessments and follow MooreHaven policies for outings and activities
- Report accidents or incidents to the line manager and complete required documentation
- Make suggestions to improve engagement and programme delivery
Requirements
- Leaving Certificate
- QQI Level 6 Qualification in Disability Studies, Healthcare or similar and/or
- QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer qualification
- Minimum 6 months’ experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities
- Strong IT and administrative skills
- Full clean Irish/EU Driving Licence

- Be familiar with fire safety procedures and drills
- Report accidents, incidents, and other reportable events as required
- Participate in relevant training and professional development
- Remain informed of developments in the field of intellectual disabilities, HIQA standards, and national policy
