MooreHaven is currently recruiting Support Workers to join our Residential Services in Tipperary Town on a permanent, full-time basis.

About MooreHaven
Founded in 1981, MooreHaven provides a range of services to adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities across Tipperary and Limerick.
Today, MooreHaven supports over 130 service users, with services delivered by a dedicated team of over 100 full-time and part-time staff. Our services include Day Services, Day Activation, Supported Employment, Training Programmes and HIQA-registered Residential and Respite Services.
Our mission is to promote and support independent living, community integration, personal development and meaningful opportunities for the people who use our services.
About the Role
As a Support Worker within our Residential Services, you will support residents in their daily lives while promoting independence, personal choice and meaningful participation in their community.
You will work as part of a dedicated team to provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each resident’s individual needs, preferences and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting independence, choice and self-reliance.
- Provide personal care and practical support in line with each resident’s individual needs and support plans.
- Support residents to identify and work towards their personal goals.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in community, social, educational and recreational activities.
- Support residents to develop and maintain meaningful relationships and community connections.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
- Promote and protect the rights, dignity, safety and wellbeing of all residents.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation.
- Promptly report accidents, incidents and any safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Attend required training and work in accordance with MooreHaven policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Contribute positively to a respectful and supportive team environment.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have a genuine commitment to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
You should also have:
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability.
- A full, clean Irish/EU driving licence. Applicants who hold a learner permit and have their driving test booked may also be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- A person-centred approach and commitment to promoting independence, choice and inclusion.
