We are currently recruiting Full-Time Support Workers for our Tipperary Town Residential Services on a 1-Year Specified Purpose (Maternity Cover) Contract.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide person-centred support to adults with intellectual disabilities within our Residential Services, helping each person live as independently as possible while achieving their own goals and aspirations.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll encourage independence, develop life skills, promote community participation and build meaningful relationships. No two days are the same, making this a varied, rewarding and fulfilling career.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents with daily living while promoting independence, choice and inclusion.
  • Provide personal care in line with individual support plans.
  • Encourage participation in community, social and recreational activities.
  • Support residents to develop life skills and achieve their personal goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Promote safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

We’re looking for caring, enthusiastic people who are passionate about supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives.

You’ll ideally have:

  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 6 months’ experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability.
  • A full, clean Irish/EU driving licence. Applicants who hold a learner permit and have their driving test booked may also be considered.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, person-centred approach.
