MooreHaven is currently recruiting Support Workers to join our Residential Services in Tipperary Town, Co. Tipperary. MooreHaven supports adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities across Tipperary and Limerick through our Residential, Respite, Day Services, Supported Employment and Training Programmes.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide person-centred support to adults with intellectual disabilities within our Residential Services, helping each person live as independently as possible while achieving their own goals and aspirations.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll encourage independence, develop life skills, promote community participation and build meaningful relationships. No two days are the same, making this a varied, rewarding and fulfilling career.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living while promoting independence, choice and inclusion.
• Provide personal care in line with individual support plans.
• Encourage participation in community, social and recreational activities.
• Support residents to develop life skills and achieve their personal goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Promote safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

We’re looking for caring, enthusiastic people who are passionate about supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives.

You’ll ideally have:

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 6 months’ experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
• A full, clean Irish/EU driving licence. Applicants who hold a learner permit and have their driving test booked may also be considered.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, person-centred approach.
